Doing that Harsh Oven Cleaning the Easiest Way |
Posted: August 29, 2018 |
To me, personally, the phrase ‘oven cleaning’ and the word ‘easy’ cannot exist together, they just can’t be written in the same sentence! Just thinking about the chore gives me goosebumps. And when you run a household where baking is preferred over frying the food, the oven tends to cover in grease and grime in a matter of weeks. An exhausting scrubbing follows next, and that’s my worst nightmare. So, imagine how happy I was when I found this super easy way to remove the crusty dirt from the inside of my kitchen cooker. Best thing is, you don’t have to use harsh chemicals and much force to complete the task! But let’s see the steps towards your squeaky clean oven in detail. You will need: Water Vinegar Baking soda A rag A small bowl Spray bottle Preparation: First, we’ll make the cleaner which will be used for the inside of the oven. You’ll need the baking soda and some water for the purpose. Mix both ingredients together in the bowl until the consistency of a thick paste is achieved. This will be our magical detergent. Make sure you’ve made enough paste to cover all of the surfaces inside. Clean the window: 1. Take the paste and apply a thick layer of it on the window. 2. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. 3. Rinse the window with clear water to remove the paste. Wipe it clean with the rag. Clean the oven: 1. Take out the racks and trays. 2. Spread the paste to cover the entire inside of the oven. 3. The paste will need at least 12 hours to achieve a result, so you can let it sit overnight. 4. The next day: Wipe out the paste as far as you can using a wet rag. 5. Fill the spray bottle with some vinegar and spray it on the areas where baking soda residues could still be seen. 6. Wipe off the vinegar with a wet rag. 7. Put the trays and racks back into the oven and let it dry for a couple of minutes. And that's it! The oven is clean. However, as grill lovers, we have the same greasy problem with the bbq. The oven and the bbq share many similarities but the cleaning is not among them. I don't recommend to use the method above for the grill. If you want great results without much effort and damaging anything just follow the bits of advice on this professional BBQ cleaning guide. They work!
